Inspire Tutor - Colin Atkinson

Colin is now retired after a 35 year career in flood risk management with the Environment Agency and its predecessors.

He is also very interested in local history and has been an active member of the Association of Voluntary Guides to the City of York for over 30 years. He has a long association with Amateur football in the York area and was an active referee for 35 years. He is also the longest serving member of the York Minster Engineering League Management Committee, which he joined in 1979. He also works for the Football Association, appointing referees to around 70 games in the York, Ryedale and Scarborough areas every Saturday afternoon as well as mentoring new referees and assessing experienced referees for promotion.  He also finds time to volunteer on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway a couple of days a month in summer.
