Inspire Tutor - Colin Sheppard

Following a highly distinguished career in the police force, where he rose to the rank of Deputy Chief Constable, and a period as Visiting Professor of Law at the University of New York, Colin Sheppard was Secretary to the Diocese of York from 1998 to 2004. He is a very keen proponent of York’s heritage, and works at the Mansion House, Fairfax House, York Explore Library and Bar Convent on a voluntary basis. He is also a member – and former committee member – of the Association of Voluntary Guides of York, and spends what little spare time he has as an independent archaeologist.

Colin won the Oliver Sheldon Memorial Essay Prize in 2009 with his work ‘The life and times of Edward Peart Brett’.
